B.S in Human Services– University of Phoenix
Hello, my name is Julia Nieves. I am honored to serve as the Assistant Preschool Director for Sun Valley Preschool. I have 20+ years of experience in the Early Childhood Education field; working with young children, families, and staff of the Yuma County Area in the State of Arizona and San Francisco, California. I began my career at an early age including work as a Montessori Teacher, Head Start Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher, Family/Health/Education Specialist, Head Start Program Director, Quality First Coach, Education Mentor/Trainer at Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc., and Early Learning Coach at WuYee Children’s Services in collaboration with Jewish Vocational Services and City College of San Francisco. At WuYee Children’s Services, I recruited parents and family members ages 18 to 24 to train and mentor them to become preschool teachers. I developed a passion for mentoring and assessing ECE teachers and classrooms with the purpose to improve quality of services, classroom environments, teacher-child interactions, and staff qualifications. I am an experienced ERS and CLASS tool certified classroom observer. I provide trainings and presentations to introduce the ERS and CLASS tools in different settings. I am excited and looking forward to make a difference maintaining the vision and values of Sun Valley Preschool. On a personal note, I enjoy interior decor and I am a mother of three beautiful, professional daughters, and grandmother of 5 grandchildren which are full of life and joy.
